Unnimukundhan one of the leading actors of Malayalam film industry recently spoke up himself about the limitations Malayalam movie industry has within itself and its established reputation. He is of the view that the industry’s stronghold on “good and neat cinema” becomes a burden to the film makers from experimenting large scale commercial establishments.
Unni Mukundhan expressed his views in an interview with the channel Galatta Plus. He said, “Our cinema has this reputation of being ‘good and neat.’ It is burdensome for people like me. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to achieve that ‘good cinema’ tag with every film. People shouldn’t feel the pressure of only making benchmark movies. I don’t see this burden in Telugu, Hindi, or Tamil cinema”
