Actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran reveled about his upcoming directorial project Empuraan, the continuation to the 2019 hit Lucifer. The new action-packed film is all set to project once again Mohanlal in the leading role and explore deeper layers of the criminal world, including more about Khureshi Ab’raam, a character became popular in Lucifer. In a character reveal video released on his social media, Prithviraj clearly picturizes about his role as Zayed Masood, a mercenary commando in Khureshi Ab’raam’s crime syndicate. He teased that Empuraan would bring everyone to the character’s past, revealing his backstory and how Khureshi Ab’raam influenced his life.
Prithviraj also gave a hint at the expanded scope of Empuraan, explaining it as more complicated than its predecessor Lucifer. He teased that the new version would introduce new characters and complications, deepening the narrative and making the stakes even higher. “When the first part of Lucifer ended, we introduced Khureshi Ab’raam’s mega syndicate in such a way that no force in the world could touch or take world could touch or take them on. But was that true? Or was it a misplaced assumption?” he said.
