The blessed singer who owns songs of romance to the deep melodies, P Jayachandran passed away yesterday. In his entire career he has sung over 1600 songs in different languages and acted in a few Malayalam films. In 1986 he won the National Award for the Best Playback Singer and also won Kerala State Award five times. The first movie he acted was Krishnaparunthu released in 1979 in which acted in the leading role.
MD Vasudevan who wrote the script inspired him to act in Nagakshathangal released in 1986. The last movie he acted was Trivandrum Lodge released 2012 in which he acted as Narayanan Potty.
