Thug life is an upcoming Indian Tamil language action-drama film directed by Mani Ratanam, who co-wrote the script with Kamal Hasan. It also creates the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Manirtnam after their hit Nayakan released in 1987. The film was officially announced in November 2022 under the tentative title Kamal Haasan 234, as it is Haasan’s 234th film as a lead actor, and the official title was revealed a year later.
The film was officially announced in November 2022 and principal photography was commenced in January 2024 in Chennai. The official release was scheduled to be rereleased worldwide on 5 June 2025.
