Empuran made as a sequel to a highly successful political action-thriller ‘Lucifer,’ released in 2019 and directed by actor-producer Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2: Empuraan starring Mohanlal is the next big thing going amidst movie fans in the Malayalam industry. The movie expected to be released on March 27 worldwide in five languages is expected to create a new record erasing the previous industry records by creating the benchmark higher. Lucifer is conceived as a trilogy by its writer Murali and the second instalment is Empuraan.
Empuraan is made on a high whopping budget by Subaskaran Allirajah and Antony Perumbavoor under the Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas banner. The movie’s Telugu remake starring megastar Chiranjeevi, titled ‘GodFather’ became a box office flop but the craze for this sequel is high. To cash in on the same, the makers planned for a pan-India release in multiple languages.
